Frasers Property Industrial (Thailand) partners Amata Corporation PCL in converting factory building into COVID-19 community isolation center

  • Community isolation center with 309 beds in Rayong Industrial Estate supports the country’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
  • Collaboration with the Thai Government and Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) enabled rapid conversion of factory building into a community isolation center in only seven days with full set-up of medical equipment and facilities.

Frasers Property Industrial (Thailand) Company Limited (“FPIT”), Thailand’s leading industrial property developer and wholly owned subsidiary of Frasers Property (Thailand) Public Company Limited (“FPT”), and FTREIT, Frasers Property Thailand Industrial Freehold & Leasehold REIT, join hands with Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, Pluak Daeng District, the Mabyangporn Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and Pluak Daeng Hospital in converting a factory building in Rayong Industrial Estate into a community isolation center to support COVID-19 patients in the area.

The community isolation center with 309 beds for COVID-19 patients classified in the green group, or those with mild or no symptoms, has been renovated and well-equipped to meet the standards set by the Department of Disease Control under the Ministry of Public Health.

Mr. Sopon Racharaksa, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Property Industrial (Thailand) said, “The high level of collaboration among the teams at Frasers Property, Amata Corporation and the government authorities have enabled the successful and speedy transformation of our ready-to-use factories into a community isolation center for COVID-19 patients in just a week. We responded immediately to the call to support the community amidst a rapid spread of the pandemic. To cater to increasing demand for hospital beds, we are planning to introduce more beds in the next phase. We continue to work closely with the Government and relevant stakeholders to help the community overcome these challenging times.”

Mr. Viboon Kromadit, Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, said: “Together with Frasers Property and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, we believe in giving our utmost support to the community to tide over the crisis. The 309-bed community isolation center, which will offer medical treatment for COVID-19 patients in the vicinity of the Rayong Industrial Estate, marks the start of our partnership in building these medical facilities during this dire period.”

The community isolation center is well supported in terms of utilities and infrastructure, and receives food items and other necessities from related Government authorities and private sectors. For instance, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has provided electrical transformers and electrical control cabinets, while the CAT Telecom Public Company Limited has facilitated communication systems for the project. SCGP’s Paper Field Hospital Bed products were transported to support the project, and many more.

The community isolation center by FPIT and Amata at Rayong Industrial Estate has officially opened to accept COVID-19 patients on 4 August 2021. The Pluak Daeng Hospital Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province sets the criteria for accepting patients.
