The Eastern Economic Corridor, or EEC, is a government-led, area-based development initiative under the Thailand 4.0 strategy. This plan aims to transform the eastern seaboard into a high-value industrial and logistics hub. Covering the provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong. The EEC zone is strategically positioned as a gateway to ASEAN markets, with seamless connectivity to domestic and international supply chains.
The strategy is meant to help the country achieve high-income growth through innovative, value-based industrial development in various fields such as automation and EV, smart electronics and robotics, aerospace and aviation, logistics and digital industries, biofuels and biochemicals, and medical technology and healthcare.
The EEC zone offers unmatched connectivity that links businesses to global trade. With Laem Chabang Port, U-Tapao International Airport, and Suvarnabhumi Airport within reach, the corridor is connected by modern motorways, rail systems, and the upcoming high-speed rail line. Workforce training programmes are aligned with industry needs, particularly in the automotive, electronics, and high-tech sectors. For investors, this means access to skilled labour ready to support complex operations, from advanced manufacturing to logistics management.
Industrial estates within the EEC Thailand are built with resilience and efficiency in mind.
